- Once you have made sure that the foundation looks good on the side of your face be sure to check your forehead and neck. You may need to purchase an additional foundation that is slightly darker for your forehead. The makeup should also blend in evenly with your neck color so that it looks natural.
- Try out the foundation in natural light because the fluorescent lights that many stores use, may affect what the foundation will look like once you’re in the outside world.
- When you have finally find the right foundation for your skin and are ready to apply it at home, be sure to first apply moisturizer to your face and then apply the foundation. If your skin has not been properly moisturized and is dry, it will absorb the foundation as if it were moisturizer. When you apply your moisturizer, let it sit for a few minutes before you apply the foundation.
- When you’re ready to apply the foundation put a small amount of it on the back of your hand and using your middle finger or a small sponge take a drop of it and put it in the center of forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Make sure to blend the foundation well all throughout your face so you can’t see the line between your skin and the makeup. If you don’ need foundation on a certain area of your face, then don’t use it there.
The whole point of foundation is to hide your problem areas and make you look your best so take your time to find and apply the right one for your skin.
