How To Get Smokey Eyes
The smokey eye look can help make you appear sexy, mysterious and daring. Depending on your personal taste, you may find it to be a bit too much for daytime, however we think this sultry look is a great one for any night out. If you want to learn how to make a smokey eye, read on for some easy to follow smokey eye tips.
- Start by selecting the colors that you want to use. You should choose from deep purples, browns, blues, charcoals and soft peach. Make sure to use a color that is a different shade than your eye color because you don’t want to take attention away from your eyes. If anything, you want to make them stand out.
- Apply primer to your eyelid so that the eye shadow will not wear off with time. Allow the primer to dry before applying any more eye makeup to your lids.
- Use a brush to apply a cream color shadow over your eye lids and go up to the brow bone.
- Use black eyeliner to outline your eyes. For a true smokey eye look, be sure to make the line thicker along the upper lashes. If you have difficulty drawing a straight line, start at the middle of the lid and draw to the edge of your eye.
- Use a sponge applicator to apply the darkest contour color of your choice to your eyes and blend it with your liner color. Be sure to get the contrasting eye shadow color in the creases because it can ruin the effect if you don’t.
- Once you’re done applying the darkest color that you will use, get a color that is a medium shade (for example you will use dark charcoal with a medium charcoal) and start applying it on your lid up to the crease. You have to blend the two colors so that they look fluid.
- Make sure that both eyes look the same.
That’s it! We hope these smokey eye tips help you out when you’re getting ready for a night out on the town.
