Spring is winding down and summer is heating up! It’s time to start showing some skin, which means it’s also time to update your beauty routine with this summer’s hottest trends. Here are a few of our favorites:

Beach Hair: Go mussy, not fussy this summer. The less “done” your hair looks, the better. Now, we realize the effortless look sometimes takes a lot of effort (ironic, isn’t it?), but it doesn’t have to. One particularly easy way to achieve this look is to separate your hair into 6 to 8 sections and braid them loosely. Spray them lightly with hairspray and then blow dry until all the moisture is gone. Unravel your braids and voila! Beach hair. Add a tiny braid on the side for a little added cool factor.

Ballet Buns: Not feeling the beach chic? Try ballet classic instead. This hairstyle is cool and sophisticated and absolutely perfect for the hot summer weather. And the best part – it’s super easy to wear. Just pull all your hair on top of your head and coil it into a picture perfect bun. Secure it with safety pins and you’re done!

Bold Color: This summer is going to be a riot of color, from head to toe. For eye makeup, try bright pink or yellow. You have to wear these shades just right for them to look good, so practice before you head out in public. If you’re having trouble pulling it off, try a more muted shade of lavender for a sweet, sophisticated pop of color. Lips are going bold too! Try out this season’s hot pink or loud orange shades in a matte style. Since the colors are so bright on their own, they don’t need to be shiny. In case you hadn’t guessed – candy colored nail polish in every shade of the rainbow is in. Sunflower yellow, in particular, is going to be big this season.

Glowing Skin: When we say glowing, we mean a healthy glow – so skip the tanning bed and try one of the many awesome self-tanners or spray tans available on the market right now. If you’re not that dedicated to having an all-over tan, a great alternative is a lightly tinted SPF moisturizer for your face, or a quality bronzer applied gently to your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.

Decorated Nails: Bold colors will only take you so far this summer. If you want to go the extra mile, add fun and funky designs to your fingers and toes. This is your chance to get creative. Flowers, polka dots, stripes – just let loose your inner artist and see what happens!
